Joshua Hillmann, singer
Joshua Hillmann holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and Master of Music degree in Piano Performance, both from ASU, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Kansas. He has won many awards as a pianist, including “Most Outstanding Arizona Pianist” at the 4th USASU Bösendorfer International Piano Competition. Joshua has collaborated with many professional choirs around the world as a singer or pianist, including Grammy-winning Phoenix Chorale, Grammy-nominated Seraphic Fire, Grammy-nominated True Concord Voices and Orchestra, Anúna, Spire Chamber Ensemble, and Grammy-winning Kansas City Chorale. He’s been a featured soloist singing with The Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Bach Festival, Anúna, and with ensembles and choirs at both ASU and KU. This season, you can find him singing with Phoenix Chorale, True Concord, and Canto Vivo Chorale (Mesa Community College). He teaches piano at Grand Canyon University as adjunct faculty, serves as worship pianist and accompanist at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, and teaches piano privately at Hillmann Piano Studio in Phoenix. In his spare time, he tends to his bonsai garden and is currently teaching himself how to crochet.
