Miriam Schildkret, singer
Miriam Schildkret has become a local spokesperson for opera and a motivational speaker in the Valley. She frequently presents on topics such as opera history, performance anxiety, and health for performers. She is the co-owner of High Note Performance, an online health and fitness company that applies cutting-edge sports science to singing. She has led numerous professional development workshops for music teachers, presented a TEDx talk on how opera empowers women, and was featured in the Arizona PBS series Desert Canvas, which highlighted local artists and their impact on the community.
Miriam is an Artist Ambassador with Arizona Opera, performing and lecturing at community events. She was an Education Teaching Artist with the company for four seasons, performing in touring productions of operas for students across the state of Arizona and has appeared in numerous Arizona Opera productions as a member of the chorus. Miriam was also an Apprentice Artist at Ash Lawn Opera, and a Studio Artist at Opera NEO. Favorite roles include the title role in Cinderella, "Dorabella" in Cosi fan tutte, the title role in Dido and Aeneas, "Tisbe" in La Cenerentola, "Prince Orlofksy" in Die Fledermaus, and "Third Lady" in The Magic Flute. She recently was the mezzo-soprano soloist in Vivaldi's Gloria with Union College at Carnegie Hall. She is the alto soloist at Dayspring United Methodist Church.
